I've used the shift button on the 15-1994 for a macro that powers up my system and it worked great. I'm trying to do the same with the 2116 that I recently purchased but I'm having difficulty doing so.

Pressing P before pressing the button where I want to place the macro results in an "invalid" response from the remote. I've tried it numerous times using several different buttons. On one occasion I was successful but later decided I wanted to edit my macro so I attempted to clear the macro before starting over again. This also did not go smoothly, and resulted in an "invalid" response from the remote upon pressing shift (P) and the button where the macro was that I wanted to delete.

I've since placed my macro on a non-shifted button with no complications whatsoever.

So, is the reason I'm having a problem because: a) the 2116 doesn't allow shifted commands, b) I'm doing something wrong, or c) my remote is defective?

Thanks,
Vin
