b. If the code is not there in One For All library
, how to upgrade it?

It can be upgraded via a WAV file played through the PC's speaker or played by OFA customer support over the phone (I think in the US they prefer to play the WAV file over the phone rather than give you web access to a copy of the WAV file to play yourself).

It can be upgraded more easily by JP1 cable.

( I got bunch of codes from
the tech support guy - i have to try them tonight
, but if they are not there in database what should
I do?)

Assuming he just told you the setup codes (rather than installed them by playing a WAV file into your 8910 over the phone) then they will be in the 8910's database, because OFA tech support would be selecting only from the list of setup codes in your model.
The important question is what to do if they're in the 8910 but none of them control your device.

( I don't have JP1 cable yet. I'm planning to
get one, if absolutely required )

It's not absolutely required. It's just much easier. With JP1 it's easier to install an upgrade (than by WAV file). More important: With JP1 it's easier to find out what upgrade you need.

3. Can we use any key other than 3 macro keys
to store macros?

Yes. Most keys can be used to store macros. Device keys (TV, VCR, etc.) can't be macros without JP1. I don't know whether digit keys can be macros without JP1.
