The range very much depends on what's inbetween. I am using a 15-2116 that I converted into a 15-2117 and I have problems controlling my ReplayTV units, which are downstairs, from the bedroom, the reason being that the RF signal has to pass through some big closet doors that are completely covered in mirrors (and the reflective material in mirrors contains metal).
