I don't believe that the remote won't reset, so I have to assume it's user error.

The correct sequence to totally erase all of your programming is this...

1) Press and hold SETUP, 2 flashes
2) Type 981, 4 flashes.

If you get 4 flashes, you have reset the remote. If you get 2 short flashes and 1 long flash, it means your EEPROM is damaged.

What is leading you to believe that the remote is not resetting? And how come your post is using such a hard to read font?
