I misunderstood that on first read. You mean the RM-AV2500 is another universal that was able to learn the Denon signals. I thought you meant the RM-AV2500 was another source remote from which the 2117 was able to learn.

Edmund meant that you might have a 2117 returned by an earlier customer and not know it. In that case memory in the 2117 may be filled with signals learned by that earlier customer.

If you're willing to start over in programming the 2117, you should start with a full reset as described here:

That will get rid of any programming you did to the 2117 and any done by a previous customer if there was one.
