In that case, you can still make this work. What you need is a C-1024 box, which you can get for $150 from BlueDo, which will convert IR signals into RF signals for the Bose. I have the upgrades that you'll need to make an OFA remote work with the C-1024.
It's not cheap but it will do what you want.
