I tried to do the key move from DVD to VCR, but that did not work. I think the original remote operates like 2 separate remotes. There are 2 separate buttons, 1 for DVD and 1 for VCR. When you hit either one of these buttons a light on the combo player will light up that corresponds with the side you are using. Once you hit VCR, the buttons on the remote only work with the VCR and vice versa. If I go into the VCR menu and then hit DVD on the 6131 and then try and navigate that does not work either.

If I buy a URC-8811 would I be able to teach the URC the original remotes functions?
