I recently created a WAV upgrade file for my Kameleon URC9960, for my Amstrad Sky+ box (remote code 1175) - I too found the same issue on the Kameleon, where the recording functions are on the scrolled section.

I remade my patch creating the 1175 device as a PVR device, and sent the WAV file to my remote - and sure enough its now a PVR device and not a CBL/SAT device -- that said, i'm not sure i'm wholly happy with this configuration either.

Both WAV files were created using the freely available JP1 software, without a JP1 cable. I've got on order a JP1 cable, so will have a good mess around when I finally receive that.
