I use NiCd rechargeable batteryes on my oneforall remote, because of the limited battery life. Everytime I replaced the drained batterys I noticed that I had to press a key in order to ''start'' the remote (i.e. the motion sensor) to function again.
I also had the problem that whenever someone passed the TV set the motion sensor activated the remote.
Combining the two together, I made an extension on my remote to switch the motion sensor off and to switch it on again by pressing a key simply by adding a micro switch that momentary shuts off the power. The remote thinks batterys are replaced and waits for a key to be pressed before the motion sensor works again.
This is what I did: In the battery lid there is a metal piece connecting the left 2 batteries with the right two batteries. I cut this in two, soldered two wires on it and fixed a micros witch (normally clode) in between. So whenever I shut off the TV I press the micro switch and my remote turns off.
