First, some background. There are 2 UEI setup codes that work ReplayTV, those being VCR/0614 and VCR/0616, and even though all Replays respond to both codes, the actual infrared signals emitted by the two codes are completely different. The VCR/0614 code uses the Philips RC-6a protocol, whereas the VCR/0616 uses the Panasonic protocol (these signals were introduced when Panasonic brought out their "Showstopper" version of ReplayTV).

The RTV5040 remote uses the equivilent of the VCR/0614 setup code, and I'm guessing that you used your RTV5040 remote to train your 15-1977 box. Therefore, if your 15-2117 and URC-6131 are programmed using the VCR/0616 setup code, that would explain why it doesn't control the 15-1977 box. If you switch to the VCR/0614 code, you should be golden.

Now, I'm betting your next comment is: "but, the reason I used VCR/0616 was so that I could use advanced codes to program the missing buttons". This is OK, just as long as you are not using any of those buttons to control your 15-1977. Switching the main setup code from VCR/0616 to VCR/0614 will have no effect on the buttons that you've programmed using advanced codes.

Of course, another option would be to use the 15-2117 or URC-6131 to teach the 15-1977. If you do this, the RTV5040 remote will no longer control the 15-1977, but do you still use this remote anyway?

As for the Tivo, have you by any chance programmed the Tivo remote to send a specific unit code? If so, the signals emitted by this remote will be different than those emitted by the UEI remotes, which are preset to use "unit code 0". Again, if you use the UEI remotes to train the 15-1977, you should be good to go, but like with the RTV, the Tivo remote will no longer switch the 15-1977.
