You can create .wav files to upgrade via your computer's speakers rather than by phone.

The software to do that is available free from the JP1 forums.

You should be able to find several threads describing the process, both in this forum and in some of the forums there. If you need help, ask in the "non-JP1" forum there and specify that you plan to use the software for a .wav file without a JP1 cable.
