However, they explained me
that I have to send my remote to OFA in order to upgrade
it ! (using JP1).
They said that a simple .wav file is not enough.

I was hoping Rob would answer and explain that (he knows a bit more about OFA proceedures than I know).

I didn't think they called JP1 "JP1" nor told customers about it in any form.

In a remote with a modem I didn't think there was any upgrade they could install by JP1 that they can't install by modem.

Sometimes they replace a remote sent in for upgrade with a "better" model, when they aren't able to upgrade it. Maybe that is what they meant.

Rob also might know (I don't) about the Nokia32 protocol executor for the chip that is in the 8550. Is there such an executor? I don't know the details of the size limit for 8550 upgrades, but maybe there is a problem fitting it.

Rob, if you've forgotten which UEI official executor is Nokia32, look at the JP1 upgrade at

That includes the UEI official executor for Nokia32 for URC-7541 (S3C8+).
