I have laptop computer which I am using an MP3 jukebox. It has a built IR port connected to COM4. Does anyone know if that type of IR port is capable of receiving commands from standard remote controls.

I have a Pronto remote which I would like to use. I am also trying to avoid buying an external IR receiver to connect to the laptop.

I think this may need some specific drivers, if it is possible at all.

The laptop is a Compaq Armada 1700.
