in short hand 08/12/2005

the problem is that it is based on language and
so not universal. So for instance here where people
grew up and tend to use different languages
constantly in can get complicated with the Anglophone
way being 08/12/2005 and francophone being 12/08/2005
based on language. That is why many have started
using 2005/08/12 since it is obvious it is neither
and not based on any language

Arrr so its down to the french again ;)
