OK. This is freaky.

I looked up the RCA and R10 images, and that is exactly what I have. But mine is clearly a Philips!! I bought it for my parents about two years ago and they gave it to me after I later upgraded them to the HR10-250. I have all the original packaging still, including the D* manual that says "Philips" on the cover.

Anyway, thank you so much for the advise. I will stick the emitter over that button when I get home. I still don't understand how it is picking up a signal while completely blocked, but I won't question it too much.
