If you check out the Celebrity and Power Laps you'll appreciate they have a test track to hand; the "celebs" go round in "a reasonably priced car" whilst the power stuff is done by "The Stig".

Checking out the power laps you'll find the top car (at present)* is the Koenigsegg CCX (with Top Gear Spoiler). Previously The Stig took it around in 1:20.4 (7th place), felt he could do better and almost killed himself trying to prove it - the back end broke away and the car flew off the track. The Stig reckoned the car needed a rear spolier, Koenigsegg took it away, repaired it, added a spoiler and hey presto!

As of yet *Bugatti haven't allowed them to send a Veyron around the track, though if you check the clips (supercars) you'll find their article on the car.
