I recently purchased a BDI-USA Avion 8527 cabinet system for my tv viewing room. More info on the furniture piece here: [Link: bdiusa.com]

I am having major problems with the lack of heat dissipation in the unit. Basically each time I open one of the glass doors, for example to change a DVD, I'm hit with a blast of heat from the equipment. I would venture a guess that all the heat from the equipment is floating to the top of the unit and getting trapped behind the glass and rather than being pushed out the back, it's just getting trapped.

I am not sure what solutions might exist to help with this problem but I am fearful this lack of ventilation will damage my equipment if this continues.

The equipment in the unit is configured as follows:

Top Left Shelf - Denon DVD Player
Bottom Left Shelf - Denon AVR-4306 Receiver
Top Right Shelf - Motorola Cable Box
Bottom Right Shelf - XBox 360

The unit is about 3 inches from the wall and there is nothing underneath the unit to prevent air flow. The floor is carpeted if that makes a difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to solve this problem?
