I had a foreign exchange student (from Saudi Arabia) that stayed with us here in Washington State a few years ago...
The second day that he was here, I took him out to see the city... As we walked to my car, I turned off the security alarm... The student, looked at me and asked what that was??? I told him it was a security alarm.
He asked me (totally puzzled), why did I need that??? I said to protect the car from being stolen...
He (amazed), said in his country that doesn't ever happen.
He also mentioned that they would cut off your hand or hands if you got caught stealing.
He was visably shaken up realizing that someone would actually attempt to steal an automobile.
