Not sure if this is true, but, the story I was told some
years back, was that the brand of TVs, Goldstar was known
to be very unreliable. Evidently the company changed hands
and the new owner wanted to rename the company 'Lucky
Goldstar'.
I would like to say that a more accurate version of their history can be found
here, but there have also been times when Wikipedia has be accused of not allowing facts to get in the way of a good story.
