Unfortunately Sony UK's support people were useless when asked what the required duration of the standby button signal was that they don't have access to that information.

So if someone from Sony, the company that MAKE the remote can't get access to that info, who can???

Having said that, I'm not sure that the person who responded even knows what the MDS-JB980 is, as they started talking about AV receivers later in the reply...
