I agree that Phillips is in the business of making money, but to provide software for some other companies hardware/software means another avenue for them to support. Support costs money and and you can bet that the minute a problem comes up Phillips will blame xyz company and xyz will blame Phillips.
I would venture that their is not enough money in it for Phillips to port it over, forget the fact that Palm, Handspring, Compaq, etc would problably not want to pay/package the software for their given hardware. And would a substantial number of users want to buy the software compared to dloading it from some site that is illegally posting it?
Remember development + marketing + support + profit = $$.
