It's entirely possible that the Pronto software is written in a language like C or C++, which is entirely architecture independent, except for code for communicating with the hardware.
If Philips is in the business of making money, they would have a hell of a bigger profit margin on software that has no manufacturing overhead, depending on what they would charge.
