I mostly use Musicmatch to play music through my amp/receiver. The “Artist on Demand” feature lets you play countless hours of nearly any particular artist you want. I use the remote that came with the receiver, capable of programming and learning. I have speakers wired to my backyard deck. I got the Long Ranger Extender- which has a little transmitter (which converts the IR signal to RF) that fits into one of the AA battery slots. The RF receiver sits in front of my components which converts the RF back to IR. The range is truly 100 ft.

Now I want to get a remote to control the Musicmatch on the PC. A solution would be the Streamzap. But I’d like to go one step further and get a touch screen remote where I can actually view the Musicmatch from the PC to see the track titles and artist names. A simple solution would be the ipronto, but I want a remote that fits in my pocket.

Another possible solution would be the iPAQ 5450 or 5550. The 802.11b would allow communication on my wi-fi network. Some PC remote software would let me control my PC on the iPAQ screen, including the screen shot of the jukebox. But then I need RF to control the audio components, and there’s no AA battery. So the only possibility is the Terk RF Universal Remote Extender that can be attached to the iPAQ. I just wish there was a gadget like the Long Ranger where the transmitter would fit in the SD slot.

Is there such an “RF Card?” or does iPAQ plan on integrating RF like the Pronto Pro. Will the new Pronto Pro 7000 have Wi-Fi integration? I would appreciate any responses.
