On this model, the audio-jack is placed on the
bottom end of the ipaq. Thus the audio/ir-module
will be pointing away from the AV-equipment and

Oh yes. You are missing the option to rotate the screen 180 degrees, so top becomes bottom and vice versa! Not only can you rotate the screen during learning, but you can use it normal that way as well. This was specifically implemented for the iPaqs with the audio port on the bottom, though it was just a good excuse to start supporting other orientations.
