Don, I just thought of something. Could this
be related to the fact that there is no "warm-up"
tone generated for the Griffin device in CCF as
there is for the Native mode? just a thought...

Not too likely. The technical reason for the "warm-up" is to stabilize the audio hardware by getting it "up to speed" before we transmit actual IR data (we play a sound before we play the "IR command" sound). It should have nothing to do with relative brightness of the LED. Good thought, though!
