Using NR 24-Sept beta right now, with 1.01v direct-IR and it's working fine on my Axim X3.
These guys have a forum in which you can chat with the developers, and they actually do something with your bug info! - sometimes within 24 hours.

Netremote has some intresting suff like showing dvd contents off-the-web automatically on your pda etc., but I just want it for my remote.

It is the only one to date that features repeating buttons for volume, numbers, time entries, not only for hard buttons but for ccf virtual buttons as well!
Be sure to relearn them though inside NR.

The last issue (range) was solved in the 1.01 ir-direct update but I'm sure other guys will still find bugs (as in all software).
I'm happily using it for my AV kit right now!
