I forgot we can delete these things we write, just fyi, wilkscm and I patched things up, but I had left this forum and only came back to see that my words were a bit harsh.

But, back to the question at hand. I think girder and net remote have a good thing going. IR Remote does not support my PDA, a Toshiba 2032. Their Net Remote is really cool, and has possibilities of turning a Windows XP Home or Pro Operating system into one that emulates a Windows Media Center PC.
