Yes,
there exist several Pocket PC applications with wifi support.
But its nearly senseless to start your PC to control some devices via IR.
The second problem is the very slow reconnection speed. If you have turned off your PPC it needs several seconds (8s-20s) for the reconnection to the access point or PC.
The x50v should have an IR- transmit range of 15-20feet.
If your device can't recognize the IR- code you should try to relearn this again.
