I downloaded the software this morning and played around with it a bit before heading to work, and I agree with the above -- it's a very slick piece of work, with an intuitive UI and an impressive feature set. This remote will definitely be attractive to Pronto fans.

The IR librarian is much nicer than the equivalent Pronto hack of building a hidden buttons page with all the remote codes. Macro building is a simple drag-and-drop affair. You can even put internal functions like "turn off the backlight" into a macro sequence.

You can assign buttons to RS232 codes, which I assume means there's a base station with an RS232 port you can hook up to other devices.

The smaller touchscreen may make it more difficult to build an interface that walks newcomers through the necessary steps to start watching a movie or whatever. On the other hand, the only reason I need to have a multi-step process on my Pronto is because some of my equipment lacks discrete on/off codes. I've seen hints that the TheaterTouch might be able to receive feedback about whether devices are powered on or not, and conditionally send codes based on that feedback.

Looking forward to playing with the software a bit more, and of course to Daniel's review.
