I am discussing this with RTI. They can legally tell the distributor to only sell to authorized dealers and make selling at list price a part of authorization. They will probably loose some net sales but this remote is getting more popular with installers all the time so I am sure they will come out fine. I can and will comply, but feel strongly that people that can program their own remote and do not get much of the value added services of a custom installer deserve a price break.

My other argument is some retailers package this remote with a lot of other stuff (including me) which they can then hide the real price of the T2. This is a game that makes it very hard to verify compliance with price rules. The people at RTI are great guys and they have always been willing to listen to my arguments, especially about being fair to their customers and dealers. Stay tuned it aint over yet!
