I had the same problem on two occasions, now I only use Rf or only Ir, never both on the same install. This can be a pain when a rear projection tv is invoved. On Pioneer and most Sony sets, a rear panel Ir/serial port can be connected to the IRF6, with additional hardware. Otherwise, I open the tv and place an emitter inside.
