The way it works is the IR is converted to RF, and then transmitted at a single frequency to the IRF-6, which converts it back to IR. The chances of the frequency and conversion protocol being the same is very slim. It can happen but unfortunately not with the Bose.

RF licensing is very strict and each device is certified for one frequency to operate at. This is different from IR, which is allowed a range to operate in.
