You could use an IR543, IR to X10 interface, $19 and an X10 appliance module $13 attached to the power cords of each. Then add X10 signals to your "turn on" macros, to turn on the power to the desired source prior to sending the normal "on" command. Not the most elegant solution but certainly a quick fix, you would also give yourself the option of lighting control.
