Further Note, I have also encountered remotes that had non functional buttons, the cause for this was that when the machine punched out the cellophane that surrounds the contact points for the buttons, some of the cut out pieces of cellophane fell out from under the main sheet back into the original holes, which of course would negate any electrical contact. They are hard to see also you have to look close. You can flick out the little pieces with tweezers.
