Brief update:
I've given up. I finally took the plunge and opened up my T2 to see if I could see any obvious reason why it's not transmitting IR. Discovered lot's of flaking bits of contact material on the keypads, and no sign of anything physical that is stopping the IR working.

Since RTI still have no support network in Europe, despite Dave Palmer of RTI assuring me one would be in place by 2nd quarter of 2001, it's going to have to go in the bin :(

Very, Very dissapointed with the durability of the T2 - great concept, poor quality.

Any suggestions for a replacement. I don't intend spending so much this time (524 UKP for the T2), so maybe an MX-500 might be the replacement I'm looking for.
