To my knowledge Elan S12 IR zone commands do not exist! The ext IR inputs are of course zone specific (with the exception of WHM). RS-232 is going to be the only way to control other zones. Shy of going with an Elan SR-1 with lengthy macro's (i.e "port 1 on, source #, port 1 off") 1-8 ports would respectively tie into zones 1-8 ext in, CM-232 would be the easier route...
