Okay, I'm stumped by this....

I have a DCT6200 and a Panasonic VCR. I ordered the stick-on
IR emitter, plugged it in to the IR port on the back of
the DCT6200, attached the emitter to the front of the
VCR IR eye, and scheduled a record on my EPG. Nothing
happened....it didn't roll the VCR.

It then occurred to me....how does the DCT6200 know what
make/model of VCR it's controlling? I mean, different
makes and models have different command codes, so how
do you tell the DCT6200 that your VCR is a Panasonic with
such-and-such a code, in the same way that you would program
your remote control with a device code for a specific
make and model?

Am I missing something here? Has anyone else had a problem
getting these IR emitters to work with the DCT6200? Is
there something I'm not doing? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

In our area (we use the 6200 also) the IR port is disabled and does not do anything, they say they will enable it when they finish the software programming to enable the recording feature.....Im not holding my breath on it to be anytime soon

all the recording feature will do for naw is disable to power button while the show recording is set, will still have to manually set VCR to record for now or get a cable box with DVR
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
