When I dealt with Arcam a few years ago they were defaulted for toggle-bit IR codes.
If you cannot get the unit to respond to the same button two times in a row, it is in toggle-bit mode.
In the setup menu you can select your remote control type to "Universal" to take it out of toggle-bit mode.
This info may or may not be current, but a heads up nonetheless.
