For Zone ON I use the Execute commands. The RS232 looks like this:

(0,X,2,ZZ=1;)

the first character is a Zero (not an "oh")
the ZZ is replaced by the hex value for the zone you want to control.

By default, output "A" on a CT is zone id 11 (decimal) which equals 0B (hex) so the command would be :

(0,X,2,0B=1;) to turn on zone and (0,X,2,0B=0;) to turn off

For input, I use the RS232 version of the IR commands.

You'll have to look up the manual but it is something like this:
(0,S,I,0B=76;) again I'm not sure exactly of this one, without the protocol in front of me, but again the 0B would be the zone and the 76 is the specifix hex code for the input in question (see the protocol)
...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up...
