I've had several problems with Dish receivers. It appears that their IR sensors are a bit sensitive. I've had to use an IR flasher that sat in front of the receivers on a few (stick on types that used to come with TiVo boxes, mits tvs, etc...). Sticking right to the front of the sat receiver was apparently too much signal (I didn't have individual IR ports to adjust), pulling the emitter away about 1/2" to an inch seemed to work fine. And like AndyM, I choose to avoid working with Dish Net whenever possible.
