This Denon nonsense is absolutely crazy. To make flags
for inputs I can live with. To make flags for DSP's is
absolutely ludicrous. Nuts. I like Pioneers, but how
do they sound? I don't think I completely care about
RS-232 since most of these receivers have IR in which
run almost the same. Does anyone have any good suggestions
for a great sounding receiver that is easy to control
in the range of the Denon 3808 and Marantz 8001? This
is for a dedicated theater room that is being built now.
Thanks,

Our lead brand has been Yamaha.. I have programmed for few Denon(s) and also disliked the video and audio cutout. With Yamaha, there are no audio or video drops for input or sound field reselection. As for 232 control, I have not done it yet. There seems to be an IR function for all controls and extended CI controls. Maybe some day I will dive into it when 2 way on the XP8 is out.
