Thanks Springs, you didn't have to do that entire flag session, I knew what was involved, but I am grateful just the same. I really didn't want to do the flag thing for something as stupid as this - I can't believe Denon does this that totally sucks.
I am building a dedicated theater right now in my home and was consisdering this receiver as well, but now I am having doubts about that - what do you think of the Marantz 8001 over Denon 3808?

Make sure buttons on the remote are set to standalone
and you are triggering macros on the processor...

Test Flag DVD

Denon Input DVD
Set Flag DVD
Clear Flag Cable
Clear Flag Tuner
Clear Flag CD
Clear Flag Whatever
Escient power and the rest of the commands that you may
need. (blah blah blah)
When you enter any mode (DVD, CD, TUNER, CABLE, WHATEVER)
clear flags for the other modes.
Enter
Should take no time at all.
