I'm confused by all the IR control models mentioned here so don't laugh too hard at me if I say something dumb :(
One thing to remember is that if you use the IR in on the back of the Pioneer Blu-ray the front IR sensor is turned off and no loneger works.
If I understand what you want to do maybe you should use two emitters on the front and forget the rear IR in.
