Before I start using the Learn function on every button of my new SL-9000, I'm trying to find if I've started with the best pre-programmed code. Does anyone know of an online source giving codes for specific components?
I've got some fairly commonplace equipment but many of the commonly needed functions (like DVD cursor control) aren't available with the pre-programmed code I'm using.
I checked out every single button on the SL-9000 for my DVD control & Audio Receiver control & unfortunately many didn't work as detailed in the manual or at all. (Note: I made sure I tried all keys in both audio pass thru & non-audio pass through mode). Here's what I found:
Sony Audio Receiver STR-DE835: Buttons 1-15 worked fine (volume/channels) Buttons 25-35 worked fine (radio preset stations) Buttons 41-50 worked fine (device input selector) Just basic radio type functions above worked. The other buttons did not work at all. (None of the Surround sound buttons worked.....no speaker adjustments, surround selections, etc.)
Pioneer DV-525 DVD Player: Code 023 was the only code (of 4 listed) that worked. Most of the buttons performed functions completely different than as listed in the manual. For example, button 21 should be "Set Up" but was "Menu". Over half the buttons were in weird locations. Most importantly, NONE of the buttons allowed me to operate the cursor function of the DVD. Without being able to operate the cursor, the remote won't allow me to select options on the DVD. I thought the keys towards the bottom of the remote would allow me to do this (as some have suggested) but no such luck. For instance, button 41 selected "Random" mode not "Up" & button 46 selected "Condition Memory" not "left".
