If you're learning the Proscan into the CBL button on the SL-9000, you may want to try holding down the buttons a little longer while in the LEARN mode. For example:

-Press CBL and SEL/PLAY simultaneously so LEARN appears
-Press the POWER button on the SL-9000 so READY appears
-Press the POWER button on your Proscan remote and hold down for approximately 10 SECONDS instead of the usual 5 SECONDS as instructed in the manual
-Then follow the normal learning procedure. Holding the button down for 10 seconds may be the trick.
