you can import LEARNED IR codes from a .ccf file.
You cannot import generated RC5, Database or generated
NEC codes, only LEARNED codes.
So what if a discrete code is not available in
the IR Database and you can not generate it from
a remote? Are you out of luck?

It seems to work fine. Codes entered via hex show up as learned codes and can be imported into the MX editor no problem.
Of course, without the physical remote around to test it, I can't be 100% sure that the imported codes actually work, but it certainly seems like they should.
