Would this be a good place to suggest a couple
of changes to future remotes? I use my MX-3000
heavily, and find two design issues the most problematic.
The remote is a gem and I love mine, I just feel
a couple of things would make it significantly
better:

Use a suitable screen. The screen in the remote
appears to be a standard PDA screen rotated 90º
anti-clockwise. This causes the screen to negative
out badly when looking at it from the left at
all, which anyone holding the remote in their
right hand does. The effect is even worse as the
remote is heavy, which tends to make you tilt
it up in your hand. Even when looking at the remote
straight on the difference between each eye can
be alarming, but rotate the remote 90º clockwise
and you see the screen looks fabulous, you can
tilt it side to side all you like with perfect
clarity. This issue also limits what artwork you
can use on the remote, just for reasons of contrast
and clarity. They should develop a remote that
uses the screen in the correct orientation, or
locate a screen with a landscape polarization.

Upgrade the software so we have the option to
press a hard button without "waking up" the remote.
Like many I mute the TV during the ads, but with
this remote I have to press the MUTE button, wait
a couple of seconds for the screen to come on,
then press the mute again to actually get mute.
The same happens at the end of the ad break. There's
nothing worse than not just being able to unmute
it when you see your show back on and you're now
missing the dialog. Instead you have to struggle
with the remote, even my wife finds the remote
frustrating because of this. I would love it if
the remote would just MUTE when you clicked MUTE,
I don't want to wake up the screen.

I would also love for a future update to have the hard buttons not require the remote to "Wake up" in order to use them. That so far is my only annoyance with the 3000.
I actually don't see a screen issue like you describe, but it may be due to the graffics I use.
