also the sim2 C3X does not have discrete power commands, ther is an upgrade to allow you to configure the F1 or F2 button to act as a power off, but the power button is still a toggle

I would use a MRR300 as suggested above and cover the emitters on the boxes
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
