I understand having a case of bad tech support,
(i think it's happened to us all at one time or
another) but I try not to let one person ruin
my feelings about a whole company.

Again I talked to 4 different people on 3 different occasions and one of them asked such brilliant questions as " is it plugged in?" Ad followed up with "sounds like your having a problem. I don't know what else to tell you"

I recently had a problem with a media server and
after 3 calls to tech support I figured it out
myself.

I understand whole heartedly as Tech support is a last ditch effort as far as I'm concerned.

Back to the topic, we do use URC with much success,
there hasn't been a system yet we couldn't make
work without much trouble, and they are at a great
price point.

I agree whole heartedly. The problem is 1 of my client already had 3 Xantech remotes that worked, painfully but tolerable. I wanted to upgrade them to an mx 850/mrf250. We sell these programmed for $800. Due to the problems we were experiencing the customer actually looked on the INTERNET to see what it was he was buying. Well it turns out you can buy these on ebay for $180 new.
I lost the sale. The money means nothing its the embarrassment that I can not afford to tolerate.

P.S about my previous post. Did you actually change
the backlight color on a 900? I just can't see
it being possible

I think my ass may have been hanging off. :^(
