I listed the model number of my HiSense TV incorrectly
(sorry). The correct model number is TL2020. My problem
was not that I couldn't get my RCA universal remote to
program for the TV. I did that successfully and it still
works. My problem is that the actual HiSense remote has
a button on it labeled "lock" and that allows the user
to lock the tv so that it cannot be watched (although
it can still be turned on and off, just showing a bar
that says "locked" when it is on). I finally called HiSense
and was told that the ONLY way to unlock a HiSense TV
is with an actual HiSense remote. This seems like a ludicrous
feature to me!! I did order a HiSense remote and will
simply have to wait until I receive it to watch the TV.
Thanks for trying!
If you have a learning remote, teach the "Unlock" code to your learning remote then you can return the HiSense remote after you teach the code to your own. However the shipping costs may make this not worthwhile.
